What the infrastructure does
Cloudboxes.io is the clearest example of the metered-then-throttled model. The entry plan gives 4 TB of outbound transfer, after which the link drops to 100 Mbit rather than generating an invoice. That is a genuinely user-friendly design — the worst case is slow, not expensive.
The NVMe cache in front of bulk storage is the right architecture, though at 10 GB it is sized for active transfers rather than a working set.
Pricing is the weak point. $14.95 for 1 TB is roughly three times what Ultra.cc charges for the same capacity. You are paying for the transfer model and the dual uplink, so the value depends on whether those matter to you.
