What the infrastructure does

Whatbox sells storage first. The entry plan starts at 3.9 TB where most competitors open at 1 TB, and the plan ladder climbs from there. If your problem is a library that keeps growing, this is the shape of offer that fits.

The 100 Gbps figure is the host port and should be read as headroom rather than throughput. What it tells you is that the provider has not undersized the network relative to the disk it is selling — a mismatch that is common further down the market.

Availability is the real constraint. Whatbox runs close to capacity and plans go out of stock regularly. If you find the tier you want available, that is the moment to take it.

Strengths and limits

Strengths

  • Up to 100 Gbps advertised host uplink, the highest here
  • Entry plan opens at 3.9 TB — several times what most competitors give
  • Netherlands, USA and Singapore, so US users get a local option
  • NVMe available on upper tiers alongside bulk disk

Limits

  • Entry price of $14 is high if you only need a few hundred gigabytes
  • Frequently sold out — capacity is genuinely constrained

Plans

Storage, transfer allowance and port speed for every plan on offer.
